- Our client is an established, client-focused multi-disciplinary practice of Building Services Engineering Consultants, based in North London.
The practice has grown steadily since 1987 and now has over 60 staff, working on a variety of projects ranging from commercial offices, mixed use developments, luxury housing and masterplan strategy development.
As part of an increase in workload they are seeking to recruit a Sustainability Engineer to join their existing Sustainability department delivering Sustainability based services across a number of schemes. The Sustainability team works on a number of internal and external projects, ranging from conceptualisation to practical delivery.
As a Sustainability Engineer you should be technically capable of managing a portfolio of projects, including works at both planning and detailed design stages. You should also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with the internal management of the company from Graduate to Director level. Externally you will be required to liaise with Clients, Architects and contractors, maintaining good business relationships with all members of the team and promoting other services provided by the company
Work is likely to include:
• Working within a team of Sustainability engineers and to ensure effective delivery of projects
and tasks to meet the deadlines set by your line manager.
• Writing and reviewing technical reports for submission to planning and clients
• Completion of BREEAM / Code for Sustainable Homes assessments from Pre Assessment to Post Construction
• Completion of Part L1A & Part L2A calculations
• Completion of Energy Strategies and Sustainability Strategy Development
• Liaising directly with Clients, Architects and Contractors on projects to ensure we meet client needs and to ensure that projects are delivered on programme.
• Liaise with your line manager to ensure that targets are met and that any issues arising on projects can be dealt with quickly and properly.
Required Qualifications / Experience:
• Experience in delivering BREEAM New Construction Design Stage & Post Construction assessments
• Experience in delivering Code for Sustainable Homes Design Stage & Post Construction assessments
• Knowledge of Energy and Sustainability Strategy development
• Experience in completion of SAP, iSBEM and/or Dynamic Simulation Modelling (DSM) calculations
Optional Qualifications / Experience:
• BREEAM New Construction 2011 certification
• Code for Sustainable Homes certification
• User of IES Virtual Environment (IES-VE) software
• On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA)
