- Our client is looking for a Graduate Acoustic Engineer to join their Chelmsford Office (Permanent, Full time – or part time for the right individual)
 
 Reporting to the Associate of Acoustics, you will be required to;
 • Work reliably as part of a technical team to provide high quality service offer to our clients; Obtain information from third parties: OS mapping; utilities searches; highway boundary plans and train others to do so;
 • Take responsibility for delivering more complex tasks, modelling, calculations or drawings to support Project Managers;
 • Undertake noise and vibration measurement surveys;
 • The consideration of mitigation of noise and vibration from civil engineering, construction, industrial sites, maintenance & operations;
 • Calculation and assessment of buildings acoustics;
 • Preparation of noise input to environmental assessments;
 • Preparation of reports;
 • Develop and demonstrate good communication skills, internally to the project team and externally with clients and third parties;
 • Draft emails and letters to clients, planning officers, and other third parties; and
 • Attend meetings as a client’s representative with third parties.
 
 Candidate Specification
 
 For this role, experience should cover the following:
 • Diploma or similar in acoustics/vibration related field;
 • Proven technical ability in terms of problem solving and analytical thinking;
 • Ability to manage time, resources and projects effectively;
 • You will be a minimum of Technician Member or an Associate Member of the IOA;
 • Ideally already be working in an engineering consultancy or research company or a graduate from an environmental sciences course;
 • Experience of transport, industrial and/or buildings acoustics, BB93, NPPF, NPSE, BS8233 and BS4142;
 • Willing and able to work within team environment and involve others where necessary;
 • Able to write technical reports;
 • Acoustic modelling, noise surveys, report writing, use of MS Word and Excel; and
 • Hold a full and clean driving licence.
