- Description
- Our client is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team for initially a 6 months contract with potential to be extended to 12 months.
Positions will be within our Waste Directorate.
The Job Holder will:
• Create design documentation including engineering reports, proposals, specifications, calculations, drawings and reviews
• Provide solutions to specific design problems
• Ensure designs are compliant with the relevant regulations
• Provide independent verification and substantiation report
• Have an in-depth knowledge of his/her own discipline and can interface effectively with other disciplines at a working level
• Have the knowledge, skills and experience required to apply engineering processes to achieve engineering solutions
• Understand and be able to use relevant systems for obtaining and managing materials safely and effectively
• Be able to apply value engineering at a product substitution level
• Demonstrate a sound knowledge of plant geography and equipment
• Be able to apply project management and control skills to plan, manage and implement a project
• Have the knowledge of and ability to apply quality assurance and control techniques to meet defined requirements
• Have a broad awareness of legislation and regulations applicable to own area
• Be able to apply value engineering contracts principles
• Have a basic knowledge of nuclear safety principles, security, radiological protection, criticality safety and nuclear emergency procedures
• Demonstrate a basic knowledge of HF principles and ergonomics
